Typography uses typefaces as a means of communication. It has the power to attract the human mind to read, draw, view and capture their attention. Selecting the right fonts, lettering and print types is important as it can give the reader a clear information and better understanding.

The terms of typography is divided into two, firstly the traditional term and secondly the modern term. The traditional term is the use of metal types with raised letter forms. The modern term uses the new technology such as computer software to modify, display and output.

Digital and physical applications are used in creating typography. Original typography can be use in advertising, architecture, film, graphics, photography, graphic designs and web designs to add creativity to the design.

In the world of art, the imaginary use of text can be stand alone or mixed with image together. The combination of the art can affect the typography to become more independent and perfect. Other than that, typography can be in plain black and white or in colour. In black and white, it focuses more on the compact and flexibility compare to colours that focus on the layers of colour and combination of the colours.
